‘CSI’ STAR ELISABETH HARNOIS ON MORGAN’S BREAK THROUGH, ‘BIG’ FINALE CLIFFHANGERS
Elisabeth Harnois has had more than a few shining moments during her first season as a regular on CSI, and the season finale (airing MMay 9) will likely add another to the list when Morgan and her father “come to an understanding” of sorts. “This episode is a huge breaking open of the box, I guess,” she says. “[The finale] allows her to come to a nice place with her father, and I start to see the man behind the mask of being the tough, cantankerous undersheriff. I start to maybe sympathize with the difficulty of what he does.”
But the sense of resolution could be short-lived, she said, as the case the team works on threatens to put a wedge between them once again. “The progress almost gets blown up and destroyed. So it’s a pretty exciting and unexpected thing that happens with her and her father — and everyone else.”
Most of all Nick Stokes and Greg, who find themselves in a bit of an emotional crisis after taking on a heavily political case. “For Nick, specifically, he’s questioning whether he can do his job any more,” she says. The return of McKeen, who murdered Warrick, makes Nick feel frustrated that he is still “infiltrating their lives,” she says. “He loses it a bit. It’s a huge emotional arc.”
By the end of the hour, viewers will be left wondering whether some “very important people” will return next season, she says. “It’s honestly one of the best finales I’ve ever read in my TV experience.”

‘CSI’s’ Elisabeth Harnois shares ‘nerdy moment’ with Ted Danson |

The actress’ second episode as a “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” regular airs Wednesday (Sept. 28) on CBS. Introduced as a guest star last season, she’s continuing the role of Morgan Brody, a crime-lab tech who has just transferred from Los Angeles to the Las Vegas unit … where she clashes with her estranged father, ex-CSI supervisor turned local lawman Conrad Ecklie (Marc Vann).
“That was one of the highlights,” Harnois tells Zap2it of first seeing her billing alongside such “CSI” veterans as Marg Helgenberger, George Eads and Jorja Fox. “I knew I was only going to be in a couple of scenes [of the season premiere], but we all watched it together on a big screen on the studio lot, and I had forgotten that little detail of my name in the opening credits. It was something to see.”
Besides the FOX suspense drama “Point Pleasant,” another show that gave Harnois a starring credit was CBS’ short-lived “Miami Medical,” which lasted long enough to keep her on the radar of executive producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman. They also oversee the “CSI” franchise, and though Harnois claims she’s often heard the promise “We want to work with you again,” they made good on it.
At the time she was signed for this “CSI” year, Detroit native Harnois — along with most everyone else — didn’t know Laurence Fishburne would be leaving the show. Now wrapping production on her fifth episode as a co-star, she says “CSI” already feels like home, thanks in large part to the other newbie in the regular cast.
“I already knew Ted [Danson],” Harnois reveals. “I went to college with his stepdaughter, and she and I were really good friends for years. We sort of fell out of touch, but I had met him several times and had been to his home, so I had known him in a familial way.
“I remember the first time I met him, I looked at him and had that nerdy moment as a young actor thinking, ‘Oh, man. I hope someday, I get to work with you.’ And sometimes, the secret works: You put something out in the universe, and it happens.

First news about Elisabeth’s role on CSI |
Ted Danson isn’t the only new face on CSI this season. What can you tell me about how the show will use new series regular Elisabeth Harnois? — Kelly
ADAM: First things first. Before Harnois’ Morgan can work in the lab, she has to patch things up with her estranged father (and new boss) Conrad Ecklie. That’s no cakewalk. “He’s a better man now… but years ago he wasn’t as good a father,” executive producer Carol Mendelsohn says. “It’s very hard for her to see that he’s a changed man.” Perhaps he’ll win her over when he comes to her rescue early in the season.

Elisabeth to Join “CSI” as a Regular Next Season |
Elisabeth Harnois, who co-starred on CBS’ Miami Trauma, will be joining the cast of another CBS/Jerry Bruckheimer drama as a regular, the mothership CSI series. She was originally signed to guest star in the May 5 episode as the estranged daughter of Conrad Ecklie (Marc Vann) who works for the Los Angeles Police Department and helps the Las Vegas crew hunt down serial killer Nate Haskell (Bill Irwin). The guest stint grew into a bigger role on the show. She was expected to return for more episodes and has now been upgraded to a full-blown regular status on the show. Veteran CSI, now in its 11th season, has not been officially renewed for next season but that is considered a foregone conclusion. Harnois, whose series credits also include Point Pleasant, Dirt and One Tree Hill, recently starred in the Disney movie Mars Needs Moms and will next be seen in Riddle opposite Val Kilmer. She’s with WME and Schachter Entertainment.

Elisabeth Harnois is to make a guest appearance in a forthcoming episode of CSI.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the actress will play the estranged daughter of Conrad Ecklie (Marc Vann) in ‘Cell and Goodbye’.
The character, who is expected to recur next season, works for the LAPD and will help the CSI team hunt down serial killer Nate Haskell (Bill Irwin).
Harnois previously starred in short-lived CBS drama Miami Medical and has also appeared in episodes of 90210, Without a Trace and One Tree Hill.
It was recently confirmed that former Lost actress L. Scott Caldwell will appear in the CSI season finale as Langston’s former mother-in-law, who becomes involved in the Haskell investigation.
CSI continues on Thursdays at 9/8c on CBS. Harnois’s appearance will air on May 5.
